What benchmark should be applied when creating a new account?
This article explains the benchmarks to apply during new account creation. It is intended to ensure that every new account is set up with the correct benchmarks from the start, based on the customer’s survey country and employee count.
Step 1: Confirm the survey country
Before applying or removing any benchmarks, confirm the customer’s survey country.
Check:
- Which country the engagement is for
- Whether the account was created under the correct dashboard
- Whether a generic benchmark was automatically applied from the dashboard
Step 2: Confirm the employee count
Check the customer’s employee count to determine the relevant size category or segment benchmark.
Confirm:
- The employee count for the engagement
- The applicable size category benchmark (Micro/Small/Medium/Large)
- Whether a country-specific size category benchmark is required
Step 3: Review the benchmarks currently in the account
Before adding any benchmarks, review what has already been applied.
Look for:
- Generic/default benchmark
- Country-specific generic benchmark
- Size category or segment benchmark
- Benchmarks that are more than 3 years old
- Benchmarks that belong to the wrong country
Step 4: Remove outdated or non-relevant benchmarks
Remove any benchmarks that should not remain in the account.
Remove:
- Any benchmark that is more than 3 years old
- Any generic benchmark from a non-relevant country
- Any benchmark that does not apply to the customer’s survey country or size category
Do not remove:
- Benchmarks that are exactly 3 years old
- Benchmarks that are less than 3 years old and relevant to the customer’s survey country
- Relevant generic/default benchmarks for Singapore, Australia, and Philippines
- Relevant country-specific generic benchmarks for other countries
- Relevant size category benchmarks
Step 5: Apply the correct benchmark rules by country
For accounts surveying in:
- Singapore
- Australia
- Philippines
>> Leave the generic/default benchmark in the account.
>> Add the relevant segment or size category benchmark based on employee count.
>> Remove any benchmark that is more than 3 years old.
For accounts surveying in other countries, such as:
- Vietnam
- Indonesia
- Thailand
- Malaysia
- New Zealand
>> Remove the non-relevant country generic benchmark that was automatically applied from the dashboard.
Example: If a Vietnam engagement is created under the Singapore dashboard, remove the Singapore generic benchmark.
